Terms of Service

1. The Service

Simplony is a personal finance management tool that helps you track expenses, manage budgets, and get AI-powered insights. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Each account is for a single individual — sharing credentials is prohibited.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Process data belonging to other people without their consent
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without our permission
• Use the Service for fraud, money laundering, or illegal activity
• Abuse or interfere with the Service's infrastructure

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit (transactions, budgets, notes, images, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely to provide the Service. This licence ends when you delete your content or account.

5. AI Features

The AI assistant does not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. AI-generated responses are for informational purposes only and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Certain AI actions (such as creating transactions) require your explicit confirmation. See the AI and Financial Disclaimer.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

The Service offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. New Pro subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. During the trial you can cancel at any time without being charged. After the trial, paid subscriptions are billed monthly through a third-party payment processor and renew automatically unless cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Simplony and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your financial data.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services for hosting, payments, AI features, and other functionality. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for losses caused by AI-generated content, data entry errors, or decisions based on information shown in the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will meet your requirements, be available without interruption, or be free of errors.

12. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, pose a risk to the Service, or as required by law. Upon deletion, your data will be removed per our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
